International Conference on Bangladesh Genocide and Justice


Fariha Noshyn Borny, our fellow ICR Foundation member attended the 4th International Conference on Bangladesh Genocide and Justice which was held in Dhaka from 27th of February 2015. A short report on that event written by Ms Borny.

The 4th International Conference on Bangladesh Genocide and Justice arranged by Liberation War Museum was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from February 27 to March 01, 2015. There were more than hundreds of participant and most of them were young adults. Total 19 foreign delegates from 9 countries attended the conference. The genocide scholars discussed on victim nation’s right to justice, crimes of sexual violence and remedies for survivors, role of international community in promoting justice, role of art and research in confronting genocide, post-genocidal state and social responsibilities and ways to prevent genocide. Several Judges have shared their personal experiences while dealing with genocide cases. Victims who have survived brutal genocide in the Liberation War of Bangladesh 1971 also shared their experiences and expressed their urge for justice.
